AC Duct
There are several types of air conditioning (AC) ducts used in HVAC systems, each with unique properties:
Flexible Ducts: Made from flexible plastic or metal, often wrapped in insulation. Easy to install in tight spaces but can be less efficient if not properly supported.
Sheet Metal Ducts: Usually made from galvanized steel or aluminum. Durable and long-lasting, commonly used in commercial settings. Requires insulation to prevent heat loss.
Fiberglass Lined Ducts: Metal ducts lined with fiberglass insulation for sound absorption and thermal insulation. Common in office buildings for noise reduction.
Fiberboard Ducts: Made from compressed fiberglass fibers with a foil layer on the outside. Low cost and good thermal insulation, but prone to moisture issues and less durable.
Flexible Foil Ducts: Made from a spiral wire frame with foil covering, mainly used for dryer venting or short duct runs. Not as durable for long-term HVAC use.
Each type has its own advantages and is chosen based on factors like space, efficiency, and cost.
